Connekt EV opens hub on Loch Lomond
EV charging solutions firm Connekt EV Charging has opened its first rapid charging hub at the Cameron House Hotel on Loch Lomond.
The development comes as part of the company’s strategic plan to establish 100 rapid charging hubs across the UK. It features two direct current (DC) chargers, offering a total of four connectors: one 60kW rapid charger and one 120kW rapid charger.
The facilities enable EV drivers to gain approximately 100 miles of range in just 35 and 25 minutes respectively, which provides a swift and efficient charging experience.
It builds upon Scotland-based Connekt’s previous collaboration with Cameron House where 24 EV chargers were installed across four strategic locations within the resort.
As part of their sustainability efforts, Connekt plant a tree for every charger installed, helping with additional carbon capture and promotion of more sustainable practices within the industry as a whole.
Johnny Manning, Founder and Managing Director of Connekt, said:
“The launch of our first rapid charging hub at Cameron House is a pivotal moment in our expansion strategy. It exemplifies our dedication to providing reliable and accessible EV charging solutions, aligning with our goal to roll out 100 rapid hubs nationwide. We are grateful for the support from the FSE Group and Cameron House in realising this vision.”
Norrie Cook, representing the FSE Group, said:
“Connekt’s innovative approach to EV infrastructure addresses a critical need in the market. Our recent funding support reflects our confidence in their vision and capability to significantly enhance the UK’s EV charging network.”
Jim Brown, Director of Estates & Sustainability at Cameron House, added:
“Partnering with Connekt to introduce this rapid charging hub aligns with our commitment to sustainability and providing exceptional services to our guests. It reinforces our dedication to supporting eco-friendly travel options.”
Scott McCulloch, Brand & Marketing Director for Connekt said:
“We are over the moon to launch our inaugural rapid hub, showcasing our fresh, new charger designs which we will soon be rolling out across Connekt’s whole estate of chargers. As part of our overall expansion plans we have been laser focused on supporting the hotel and hospitality industry, evidenced by this whole EV charger rollout across Cameron House on beautiful Loch Lomond. Both businesses clearly care a lot about sustainability and Cameron House have been a joy to work with”.
