On-site hydrogen production company, BayoTech, has announced it has signed an agreement with UK-based hydrogen refuelling station (HRS) deployer and hydrogen fuel supplier, Element 2 Ltd.

The two companies plan to collaborate on a project in Scotland and serve a wider number of projects across the UK and Europe.

BayoTech, through its on-site hydrogen generators and Gas-as-a-Service offering, reduces or eliminates transportation and storage costs.

BayoTech’s hydrogen generation systems produce local hydrogen close to the application, reducing the carbon intensity associated with the legacy challenges of liquifying and transporting hydrogen, allowing BayoTech to serve a diverse set of end users, including traditional consumers in the industrial gas and chemicals industries, as well as those using hydrogen to power the fast-growing fuel cell segment.

Mo Vargas, President and CEO for BayoTech, said: “The UK is evolving quickly on their approach to the hydrogen industry and BayoTech plans on playing its part by investing significant capital to develop plants, create jobs, create tax base and help meet the UK carbon reduction goals.”

Tim Harper, Element 2 CEO, said: “Our agreement with BayoTech is an integral key to unlocking the UK’s hydrogen economy. This relationship is further evidence of Element 2’s continuation to progress ahead of plan.

“Element 2’s refuelling network will be ready to meet demand as it transpires, reducing carbon emissions and helping the UK reach its target of net zero emissions by 2050. We can offer a unique perspective on the infrastructure of refuelling and we will be ready to fuel the UK transport sector with hydrogen as soon as it is needed.”
