Stephen has over twenty-five years’ experience specialising in the changing energy markets. He heads AFRY’s global work on energy market design, and is internationally recognised as an expert in market reform for the energy transition. As a professional economist, he contributes to the global debates on appropriate markets for decarbonisation, flexibility, capacity, and network access. Stephen has led national market reform programmes on several occasions, and has worked on electricity markets in around 30 countries. He is an inspirational conference speaker and has published numerous papers on electricity market design and the energy transition.
