GRIDSERVE hub opens at Teals farm shop

A new GRIDSERVE Electric Retail Hub has opened at the farm shop Teals in Somerset on the gateway to the Westcountry, the A303.

The new charging hub will serve shoppers, the local community and those travelling on the scenic routes through Somerset.  It has ten charging bays served by five charging Medium Power (up to 180kW) units.

To make it as easy as possible for customers to charge their EVs, the hub has both CCS and CHAdeMOconnectors, accepts contactless payment and provides real-time status updates to a myriad of popular EV charging maps.

TEALS is a farm-shop in Somerset near Wincanton. It comprises of a food-market crammed full of local products that you would not find in a supermarket, plus a butcher, cheese counter, deli, bottle-shop, milk machine, food-to-go, bookshop, lifestyle and gifting section.

There is an on-site restaurant serving breakfast and lunch every day.

For GRIDSERVE, Electric Retail Hubs work alongside Electric Super Hubs, for those who need High Power charging on the UK’s motorways as well as Electric Forecourts®, which offer an EV experience for the local community.

GRIDSERVE’s Electric Highway now has over 190 locations with more than 1,400 charging bays, including over 100 charging bays so far this year.

Rebecca Trebble, Chief Customer Experience Officer, said:

“It’s the perfect location to supplement our existing electric vehicle charging on the busy A303 for those travelling to the South West.”

Ash Sinfield, Founder of TEALS, said:

“At TEALS, we can offer a different sort of charging experience, weather it involves taking your dog and kids for a leg stretch around the dog jog or sampling a meal in our restaurant, you can expect to spend your time doing something joyful while you are with us.”
