Motability Operations supports Cenex
Motability Operations has announced today (25 April) that it has sponsored access to Cenex’s National Electric Vehicle Insight and Support (NEVIS) service for all Scottish local authorities for one year.
All 32 local authorities can now access reliable, independent and up-to-date information to improve the EV infrastructure in Scotland and help ensure it’s ready for Motability Scheme customers.
The move builds on the successful distribution of anonymised information through NEVIS on the location of around 700,000 Motability Scheme customers in England and Wales last year, and brings the number of local authorities registered on NEVIS up to more than 260.
The latest distribution of modelling, mapping and guidance is supported and steered by an advisory group consisting of key Scottish stakeholders to ensure it aligns with the wider range of existing services and support for local authorities in Scotland.
Gavin Thomson, Managing Director Scotland, at Motability Operations, said:
“By sharing our anonymous customer data alongside Cenex’s modelling, mapping and guidance, we can help ensure the information gets into the hands of the decision makers.
“This is now more important than ever. As the automotive industry accelerates its transition to electric, we want to make sure our customers in Scotland have a suitable public charging infrastructure around them.”
Chris Rimmer, Head of Policy, Strategy and Implementation at Cenex, added:
“We’re delighted that Motability Operations is helping expand the reach of NEVIS into Scotland and helping us put the full range of NEVIS services into the hands of LAs. We’ll be running a range of short workshops to ensure that officers can make the most of this opportunity.”
Any Scottish Local Authorities NEVIS can self-register to view and download the information directly from the service, as well as access insights on the anonymised location of Motability Scheme customers.
As in previous years, Transport + Energy will be offering a number of fully funded places to qualifying representatives from local authorities who are in a role which is focused on the decarbonisation of transport, including energy, infrastructure, planning and highways at its upcoming Transport + Energy Forum.
