European Charge Point Operator (CPO) TotalEnergies has partnered with Zapmap as a payment partner.

The company said it was taking the move “to simplify the EV charging payment experience across London and beyond”.

With more than 2,700 operated charge points across the UK, TotalEnergies is one of the leading CPOs in the Greater London area.

Zapmap users can now pay for charging in the app at TotalEnergies charge points, in addition to the tens of thousands of other locations already integrated into the payment solution.

TotalEnergies joins a growing list of Zapmap payment partners throughout the country, extending to more than 25 networks and covering 37,000 devices, across on-street, destination and en-route charge points.

Zapmap users can add a credit or debit card and use it to pay for EV charging, providing a simple way to pay across networks from within the familiar Zapmap app.

Drivers paying with Zapmap are also able to view their charging history, receive live status updates and download receipts to track their spending. They can also use both Apple Pay and Google Pay on all devices that accept payment through Zapmap.

Nicolas Garnier, Managing Director of TotalEnergies Charging Solutions UK Ltd, said:

“We are thrilled to partner with Zapmap to simplify EV driver’s customer journey across the UK. This collaboration perfectly meets our ambition to make electric mobility easy and accessible to everyone”.

Matt Lloyd, Head of CPO Networks at Zapmap, said:

“With TotalEnergies’ on-street charging network now live on Zap-Pay, this announcement represents a significant step forward for convenient and reliable charging for EV drivers in Greater London, as well as further afield.

“I’m delighted that Zap-Pay is now a part of TotalEnergies’ focus on ensuring that charging is as straightforward and accessible as possible for users of the network.”
