The BVRLA is bringing the sector together for #UsedEVweek on 21-27 September for a concentrated period of activity on the used electric vehicle (EV) market.

This year’s campaign follows the inaugural week last October, when organisations from across the automotive sector used a shared banner to publish insight, evidence and positive stories about used EVs.

Activity will follow the same principle: concentrating industry communications into a single week to create greater visibility and impact.

It comes as the latest used car figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) show the market returned to growth in Q2 2026, with sales of used EVs continuing to accelerate.

Autotrader also reports that values are no longer on the downturn seen previously, with the volatility in global fuel prices acting as a factor.

The BVRLA said that it was “important that the market can forge a stable long-term base” once fuel prices stabilise, and the week aimed to turn short-term momentum “into sustained demand and greater consumer confidence”

It will also give the sector an opportunity to demonstrate the benefits that can be found in the used market for electric cars, the association added, with content highlighting the flexible ways vehicles can be sourced or funded, the quality and variety of cars on the market, and the reliability that drivers can expect.

The BVRLA will punctuate the week with its own activity and announcements, while members and industry stakeholders are encouraged to take part by sharing data, insight, case studies and content.

Adam Forshaw, head of communications, BVRLA, said:

“Without a strong used EV market, the transition cannot succeed. BVRLA members and their fleet customers have led the shift to electric, but we now need that momentum to carry into the second-hand market. Used EV Week is about showing more motorists the choice, value and quality already available.

“By getting the whole industry involved, we can build confidence and make that message much harder to miss.”

Stakeholders interested in getting involved with #UsedEVweek 2026 (Monday 21 September – Sunday 27 September) are encouraged to contact adamf@bvrla.co.uk to discuss further.
