Plug Me In partners with Landis + Gyr

Electric vehicle (EV) charging firm Plug Me In has partnered with electronics firm Landis+Gyr to support its commercial charging offering, signing a contract for the provision of INCH Duo and INCH Pro charging stations.

The chargers offer additional functionality to the Plug Me In range of AC chargers, with the option of tap and go card payment terminals.

The new charging stations will be offered as part of its service package for business and fleet owners looking to make the switch to electric vehicles and offer payment without the need for an app.

The EV charging range was selected based on durability, ergonomic properties, and broad integration possibilities including contactless payment support, the firm said.

Integrating with charging management software, the package will provide insight into drivers’ charging habits, manage charge point access, enable tariff-setting and manage payment options, including contactless payments, to generate additional revenue.

To prepare for the rollout of the new offering, its installation team undertook EV charger installation and configuration training with Landis + Gyr, understanding the charging station’s capabilities and specifications for seamless deployment.

Mark Coley, Head of Market Development said:

“It is an exciting opportunity for Landis+Gyr to support Plug Me In’s UK EV Charging ambitions through an extension of our existing metering partnership. The partnership provides Plug Me In’s installers access to a comprehensive portfolio of EV charger products enabling installation across workplace and fleet charging infrastructure needs. But most important is the possibility to really optimise use and deliver on ROI through high utilisation rate.”

Andrew Stead, Commercial Director for Plug Me In added:

“Landis+Gyr’s INCH Duo and INCH Pro charging stations are a strong addition to our commercial offering. With the increased ease of payments, these models offer an efficient option for business owners and fleets looking to commercialise their charging infrastructure, and help us make the entry into fleet electrification a seamless process with an attractive commercial proposition.”
