Amey secures place on National Grid framework

Amey has secured a contract with National Grid Electricity Transmission (NGET) on the RIIO-T2 Electricity Construction Mechanical and Electrical Installation Framework.

As a result Amey will see deliver the design and build works on substations, as part of NGET asset replacement and build programme.

The five-year framework requires Amey’s team to deliver works on the electricity transmission system including asset replacement, network reinforcement and connections.

Nick Maggs, Business Director for Power Major Projects at Amey, said: “We are delighted to have been awarded a place on this National Grid Electricity Transmission framework. It presents our teams with an exciting opportunity to work with NGET in delivering their RIIO T2 commitments to their stakeholders. This includes providing design and delivery expertise whilst keeping the country switched on and open for business, all with a focus on sustainability and affordability.

“We have a long-standing relationship with National Grid, so to be awarded a place on this framework further shows the confidence they have in our ability to deliver an outstanding service for them.”

Amey’s Power business has a long-serving and dedicated team of technical and construction specialists that has worked with National Grid since 2013.

The team has also worked with a range of energy providers on projects across the UK upgrading and reinforcing transmission and distribution electrical infrastructure, including wind farm connections and high voltage direct current (HVDC) developments.
