Accelerating fleet decarbonisation across the private and public sectors
09.07.25 @ Warwick Conferences
NO other industry event focuses on best practice fleet electrification approaches AND offers fully funded places to nearly a third of the attendees (from both the private and public sectors), ALL of whom have specific responsibility for fleet decarbonisation projects/initiatives as part of their remit.
Focusing on what and how, the Forum event will set out the breadth of the challenge faced with a real focus on actionable and collaborative solutions that can be taken now. The event is taking place on 9 July 2025 at Warwick Conferences (TBC).
Attendance for this exclusive event will be capped to maximise the opportunity for sponsors and exhibitors to fast-track relationship building with delegates during the day.
Event Format
A packed, day-long agenda, will include a variety of key speakers from transport, energy and beyond. Cabaret style, 10 seat table set up encourages interaction and promotes collaboration.
The agenda will feature built-in networking breaks to promote discussion among delegates and sponsors, as well as audience participation through debate and Q&A sessions during the onstage content.

The challenge:
Fleets represent most of the miles driven across the UK. Failing to meet their needs will lead to ineffective infrastructure. Vast sums of money are being invested to deliver electric vehicle plans in all regions and risk being wasted if the views of our biggest road users are not part of the conversation.
The electrification of commercial vehicle fleets provides a significant opportunity to reduce carbon and other related emissions.
One of the biggest areas that needs to be decarbonised is freight transport which is responsible for one third of the overall emissions from transport in the UK, with road freight accounting for 77 per cent of that.
At a time when there is such great interest in the future of commercial road transport it is vital that we develop the energy and charging infrastructure systemically in order to provide charging networks which align to the needs of transport operators; eliminate the uncertainties of reliability and availability; so that chargers can be located and scheduled to provide fleet operators and their clients with the time critical delivery capabilities required.
The scale of the challenge across the private and public sectors cannot be underestimated.
More than 120 of the world’s leading companies are making commitments across 100 markets to transition their fleets to EV and install EV charging for staff and customers by 2030.
EV100 is the Climate Group’s initiative bringing together companies committed to switching their owned and contracted fleets up to 3.5t and 50% of their fleet between 3.5 and 7 tonnes to electric vehicles and installing charging infrastructure for employees and customers by 2030.
On the council side, there will be several big challenges facing public sector fleets in 2025 but chief among them will be electrification – most publicly funded bodies have a target of completely electrifying by 2027 under the Greening Government environmental commitments.
Although momentum is growing in the number of local authorities developing EV strategies, a major disconnect remains between those teams and the fleet sector.
Research carried out at the start of 2024 showed that half of all local authorities now have an electric vehicle charging strategy in place, but only a tiny proportion are talking to fleets about their needs.
Through the Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (LEVI) programme more funding is being made available to support local infrastructure plans – enabling experts to be hired, teams to be set up, and projects to get off the ground.
But there is still a lot of work that needs to be done, and the Fleet Electrification Forum will help accelerate the collaboration that is needed between the public and private sectors.
