Autumn Statement: EV and energy sectors get cash and support

Chancellor Jeremy Hunt has boosted the transport sector with £2bn investment for zero-emission vehicles (ZEV) as well as planning reform to accelerate charge point infrastructure, speeding up grid connections for clean energy, and supporting sustainable aviation.

50GW made available to connect to the grid ahead of schedule

50GW of capacity – almost the equivalent of the UK’s peak electricity demand – has been made available to generators and battery storage providers to connect to Great Britain’s electricity grid substantially earlier than had measures taken by the sector not been implemented. 

LCP signs deal with PoGo

Commercial property firm LCP has partnered with ultra-rapid electric vehicle charge point operator PoGo to install 329 ultra-rapid DC charging units at 89 strategic retail developments in England, Scotland and Wales.
