Envevo has secured an electric vehicle (EV) charging maintenance contract with 22 EV charging specialists transferring into Envevo through the TUPE process, increasing operational capacity, technical expertise and nationwide coverage.
The transfer strengthens Envevo’s Maintenance Business Unit, with the enlarged team providing specialist inspection, preventative maintenance, fault response and asset management services, across a range of charging technologies and OEM platforms.
The contract award reflects growing demand for specialist maintenance partners as EV charging networks continue to expand in scale and complexity across the UK.
Reliable, resilient and well-maintained charging infrastructure is increasingly critical to supporting EV adoption, maximising asset performance and delivering a positive customer experience for drivers.
Envevo’s expanded maintenance operation will assist in maximising charger uptime, improve network reliability and support the efficient operation of critical charging infrastructure nationwide.
A comprehensive mobilisation programme is now underway covering operational readiness, systems integration, safety, training and colleague onboarding to ensure a seamless transition and continued delivery of high-quality maintenance services, it said.
Stuart Grant, Managing Director of Envevo, said:
“This is a hugely significant achievement for Envevo and a clear endorsement of the expertise, professionalism and dedication our people demonstrate every day.
The expansion of our Maintenance Business Unit is transformational for the business and represents an important step in our ambition to become the UK’s leading provider of specialist EV charging maintenance services.
“The addition of 22 highly experienced colleagues further strengthens our capability and brings together an exceptional depth of knowledge across EV charging maintenance, fault response and operational delivery.
“By combining their expertise with our existing team, we are creating one of the UK’s largest dedicated EV charging maintenance operations, capable of supporting a wide range of OEM technologies while helping to maximise network availability and keep critical charging infrastructure operating safely and reliably.
“As the UK continues its transition towards electrified transport, customers require trusted partners who can deliver specialist maintenance services at scale. This milestone reinforces Envevo’s position within that market and demonstrates our commitment to supporting the UK’s net-zero ambitions through operational excellence, innovation and customer service.”
Michael Kennedy, Chief Executive Officer of Envevo, said:
“This is an important milestone not only for Envevo, but for the wider EV charging sector.
“The UK’s transition to electric vehicles depends upon reliable, accessible and well-maintained charging infrastructure. As charging networks continue to grow in scale and complexity, operators increasingly require specialist maintenance partners capable of delivering high levels of availability, rapid fault response and consistent operational excellence.
“The continued growth of our EV maintenance operation reflects the increasing need for specialist providers capable of supporting critical infrastructure at scale, while helping improve network resilience, customer experience and charger uptime.
“We are delighted to welcome 22 new colleagues into Envevo and look forward to building a single, high-performing team focused on safety, customer service, innovation and operational excellence.
“Together, we have created an organisation with the scale, expertise and geographic reach necessary to support some of the UK’s most important charging assets and help enable the next phase of the country’s transition to low-carbon transport.”
