The AA, Royal Mail and Trents have collaborated to cut repair emissions and support one of the UK’s largest electric delivery fleets.

The partnership has seen The AA expand its use of quality-assured recycled vehicle parts through a new programme with Royal Mail and leading supplier Trents. The initiative will help reduce repair-related emissions, improve parts availability and keep vehicles on the road for longer.

Royal Mail’s adoption of recycled parts through The AA’s Accident Management service reflects a growing focus on reducing environmental impact across vehicle operations. With continued pressure on parts supply chains, fleet operators are increasingly seeking alternative repair solutions that can help control costs and reduce vehicle off-road time, it said.

Under the initiative, recycled parts will now be used across Royal Mail’s accident-damaged vehicle repairs where appropriate, supporting the organisation’s wider sustainability goals.

Overseen by David Bartlett, Head of Accident Management at The AA, the programme forms part of a growing move towards circular repair practices. By combining electric vehicle adoption with the use of quality-assured recycled OEM parts, organisations can reduce emissions across the vehicle lifecycle while supporting Scope 3 emissions reduction objectives.

The programme initially focuses on body panels, bumpers, lights, trims and other non-safety-critical parts, all of which are subject to inspection, grading and quality assurance processes before use.
