Edmund King is AA president and a Trustee and Director of the AA Charitable Trust for Road Safety and the Environment.
He is a former visiting professor of Transport at Newcastle University and is working to help the EV transition promoting initiatives such as the AA UK EV Readiness Index.
He has spent 35 years working in transport policy, safety, environment and campaigning.
He has written several reports on transport and often appears as a transport commentator on radio, television, blogs and podcasts.
He was recently elected to the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) World Council for Mobility and Tourism which represents 80m motorists globally.
He was awarded an OBE for ‘services to road safety’ in the 2016 Queen’s New Year Honours.
He has also worked in broadcasting and the automotive sector in California and the wine trade in Burgundy
He has been inducted into PRWeek ‘Hall of Fame’ and has won PRWeek’s Best Public Affairs Campaign and PRCA Best Automotive Campaign for work on ‘smart’ motorways. He also acts as a commercial adviser to BBC Children in Need.
