Electric Vehicles UK (EVUK) has today announced the addition of six new partners: Osprey Charging, Pod, Zapgo, myenergi, Cleevely EV and Gecko Risk.

The new members join EVUK’s existing alliance of carmakers, charging operators, energy providers and EV specialists.

Data from Carwow shows that used EV enquiries were up 30% in April compared with February and March, and EVUK is reporting record levels of consumer enquiries through its channels, it said.

The latest data from New AutoMotive also shows that UK BEVs accounted for 27% of all new car registrations in May – one of the strongest months on record.

EVUK’s broadened coalition aims to provide trusted information, real-world test-drive experiences and joined-up industry expertise.

Tanya Sinclair, CEO, Electric Vehicles UK, said:

“Welcoming six exceptional new partners is a huge moment for EVUK and for the wider industry. Each bring something distinctive – from public charging at scale, to home energy expertise, to independent servicing know-how, to one of the most trusted names in vehicle manufacturing. Together with our existing partners, we are bigger, broader and better-equipped than ever to support UK drivers considering the switch to electric.

“And we need to be. Drivers want straight answers about EVs: on cost, on charging, on real-world range, on what’s right for their lives. Cutting through the noise with impartial, trustworthy guidance is exactly what EVUK exists to do.”

Neil Mahapatra, CEO, Zapgo, said:

“Zapgo is making EV charging simpler and more accessible for drivers across all regions of the UK. Partnering with EVUK amplifies that mission to bring EV charging to underserved areas as we work alongside the best of the UK EV industry: sharing what we know, learning from each other, and helping to advance a faster, fairer EV transition. We also look forward to working with EVUK on numerous political projects to help shape the regulatory landscape.”

Melanie Lane, CEO, Pod, said:

“Pod’s mission is to make electric living easy, affordable and rewarding for everyone. The more people feel confident and informed about making the switch, the sooner they can benefit from what EVs have to offer.

“EV UK is doing exactly that work, giving drivers the clear, honest information they need to make the right choices. Joining as a member feels like a natural extension of what we’re doing at Pod.”

Dora Clarke, Head of Brand & External Affairs at Osprey, said:

“One in four new cars sold in the UK last month was electric – New AutoMotive’s May figures put BEV market share at 27%, with registrations up 31% year-on-year.

“More drivers than ever are making the switch, and more affordable models are bringing that decision within reach for people who may have ruled it out before. Confidence in the nationwide availability of reliable rapid charging has never been more important to those drivers.

“Joining forces with EVUK and their partners means collectively getting across this reassuring message: there are high-quality, high-speed public networks like Osprey ready for them.”
