A special session on scaling up the decarbonisation of heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) forms a crucial part of the large-scale conversation set to take place at this year’s Fleet Electrification Forum.

You can register for the Fleet Electrification Forum, which is due to take place on 8 July at Warwick Conferences, here.

This panel session on HGVs will be chaired by Dr Isabella Panovic, Innovate UK – Programme Manager (Zero Emission Road Freight).

It will featuring a variety of industry leading figures, including Russell Fowler, Acting Head of Connections Delivery, National Highways; Dr Nicholas Head, Head of Sustainability, XPO Logistics’; Michael Ayres, MD, Flexible Power Systems (FPS); and Chris Jackson, Sales Director at Neertec.

It comes as the £200m UK Government-led Zero Emissions HGV and Infrastructure Demonstration (ZEHID) trials accelerate beyond trials and pilots into real-world case studies and business applications.

Most recently, XPO Logistics, who will be speaking at the Fleet Electrification Forum, partnered with construction materials firm Saint-Gobain to add six fully electric HGVs to its fleet operating in the UK. The investment in the six eHGVs will reduce CO₂e emissions by almost 800,000 kg per annum.

The HGV panel will sit alongside a variety of mission-critical sessions at the Fleet Electrification Forum, which will see additional panel discussions, fireside chats, keynote speeches and interactive sessions ensure tangible takeaways for all attendees, as well as best-in-class networking opportunities amongst the public and private sector attendees.

The other sessions at the event include: financing the decarbonisation journey, emergency services in the electric era, the journey to decarbonised public sector fleets, decarbonising buses and coaches, and the changing role of the fleet manager – amongst others.
