Pod has partnered with EDF to launch Pod Power by EDF, a new EV tariff designed specifically for Pod customers to make home charging simpler and more cost-effective.
The tariff delivers 7 hours of low-cost, off-peak electricity every night between 11pm and 6am, and is available to both new and existing Pod customers.
Pod Power is EDF’s cheapest EV tariff, fixed for 12 months, and designed to integrate seamlessly with Pod’s charging solutions – including Pod Rewards, which offers up to £100 back each year for smart charging at home.
It has been created in direct response to customer insights showing that EV drivers want clarity, trust and simplicity with transparent pricing, no hidden catches, and “a clear sense of the value they’re getting from their energy tariff”, the firm said.
EDF also recently extended all its EV tariffs beyond the typical five-hour off-peak period, “helping its customers with longer periods of predictable costs at a time of global instability in the energy markets”, it said.
By charging off-peak with the Pod Power tariff, typical Pod customers can save over £450 per year against charging on a Standard Variable Tariff aligned with the Ofgem price cap.
When paired with Pod Rewards, customers can earn up to an extra £100 per year simply for plugging in their EV and letting Pod charge at the most optimal times.
Melanie Lane, CEO at Pod, said:
“Pod Power by EDF is designed to give drivers total confidence when they go electric, offering them a complete end-to-end charging solution. Our customers tell us they want clarity and simplicity in their energy choices, and this unique tariff
delivers both. With 7 hours of low-cost electricity every night and clear, predictable pricing, we’re making it easier and more affordable for drivers to charge at home.”
Philippe Commaret, Managing Director for Customers at EDF, said:
“We are delighted to partner with Pod on this exclusive EV tariff. Pod Power by EDF combines competitive overnight pricing with EDF’s zero-carbon electricity, giving customers a simple, great-value way to power both their home and their car. It’s a tariff built around the needs of EV drivers, delivered by two trusted brands.”
