Cardiff-based EV charging infrastructure operator PLUG Charging has acquired the UK and Ireland charge point estate of Wattif – a move which will expand its network across both markets.
The acquisition includes 350 charge points located across the UK and Ireland at a wide range of high-demand destinations, including train stations, NHS and health board sites, holiday parks, retail parks, hospitality venues and hotels. These strategically important locations support both everyday travel and longer-stay charging, playing a critical role in enabling electric vehicle adoption across urban, regional and destination-based settings.
The newly acquired estate will be fully integrated into PLUG Charging’s operational platform, bringing all sites under PLUG’s comprehensive management, monitoring and support model. This includes 24/7 driver support, proactive fault monitoring, remote diagnostics and access to PLUG’s driver app, ensuring a consistent, dependable charging experience for EV drivers across both countries.
Founded in Cardiff, PLUG Charging has built a strong reputation for delivering and operating EV charging infrastructure that works in the real world.
