National Grid Electricity Distribution has partnered with Bluestone National Park Resort to complete a private electricity infrastructure project in West Wales.

The project involved connecting Bluestone’s private electricity network, a “vital step in strengthening the resort’s energy resilience and enabling future expansion”, it said.

This work aims to ensure that Bluestone can continue to deliver “high-quality experiences to visitors while supporting local employment and economic development”, it added.

As part of the collaboration, National Grid Electricity Distribution helped Bluestone with the connection of approximately 3.2MW generation capacity into the resort’s private electricity network.

This means the solar energy generated on-site can be used to power parts of the resort, reducing reliance on external electricity sources.

Dave Wells, Contracting Services Manager for National Grid Electricity Distribution, said:

“We’re proud to support businesses like Bluestone with the infrastructure they need to thrive. Our work powers the lives of millions across South and West Wales and beyond, and this project reflects our commitment to delivering secure, affordable, and reliable energy to the communities we serve.”

Marten Lewis, Director of Sustainability for Bluestone National Park Resort, said:

“This infrastructure upgrade is a major milestone for Bluestone. National Grid Electricity Distribution’s support has helped us build a more robust energy network, which is essential for our growth and for creating new employment opportunities for people in Pembrokeshire.”
