A new entrant into the EV infrastructure market called Amplify has been created by electrical services company Sinewave.
Amplify is the culmination of the shared vision of Adam Woodley, entrepreneurial founder and CEO, and experienced leaders from the EV infrastructure sector, Stuart Douglas (COO) and Anne Buckingham (CCO).
It is built on the foundation of group company Sinewave and Douglas and Buckingham’s career experience of building and deploying charge point operator (CPO) networks for themselves and for some of the UK’s leading charge point and fleet operators.
Amplify will use this best practice to help effectively shape, design, deliver and operate high quality, regulation compliant charging infrastructure for its customers.
Founded in 2015, Sinewave are now a multi-million pound independent connection provider (ICP), accredited by Lloyds under the national electricity registration scheme (NERS).
Privately owned, the team is over 115 strong, including new, dedicated EV business Amplify, and are “focussed on ensuring that everything they do will always be a power for good”, it said. The company added that Sinewave and Amplify “aims to put people and planet at the forefront”, which is demonstrated through it B Corp certification.
Sinewave’s core services cover the full lifecycle of infrastructure projects. Providing high voltage and low voltage electrical services nationwide, it offer turnkey solutions for any electrical challenge up to 400kV, and through Amplify, it is bringing the entire value chain together by providing a bespoke consultancy, design, supply, install, operate and maintain EV infrastructure proposition for CPO and fleet customers.
At present, ti has more than 2,500 sites under operation and maintenance contracts with more than 100 live projects, including a multi-year pipeline of planned investment.
Stuart Douglas, Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer, said:
“I’m thrilled to announce the launch of our new EV charging solutions business here in the UK. It’s clear that market changes are demanding a sharper focus on grid connections and smarter energy management, as well as greater flexibility with supply chain partners.
“At Amplify, we intend to apply this learning to build flexible, future-ready EV charging solutions that put energy and the grid at the centre of everything we do.”
Anne Buckingham, Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer, said:
“The ZEV infrastructure sector has had a challenging 18 months, with political and economic change causing uncertainty and delays. The ZEV mandate remains, commitments from Government are emerging and private sector interest is returning.
“This offers us the opportunity for a reset, to more entrepreneurial and innovative collaborations and technologies and to focus on partnering, communicating and listening. I couldn’t be more excited about this new venture.”
