Forecourt operator Motor Fuel Group (MFG) is accelerating the expansion of its London electric vehicle (EV) charging network in response to rapidly growing customer demand.
New EV Power Ultra-Rapid Hubs – equipped with 300 to 400 KWH chargers – are opening across the capital in 2025, equating to a 30% increase in the charge point operator’s network within the M25.
EV Power already has a significant network inside the M25, across MFG’s 150 London sites, and the firm’s acquisition of Morrisons’ 337 forecourts, including 350 acres of car parks, provides an “unrivalled platform for EV charging network growth”, the operator said.
MFG’s latest investment sees a total of seven new Ultra Rapid Hubs added to its London network, as well as the expansion of a further three existing hubs.
MFG will be developing five EV Power Hubs on Morrisons car parks in London, complementing its network of rapid chargers, which are also being installed on the majority of Morrisons’ London supermarkets by the end of 2025.
EV Power Hubs are situated alongside MFG’s existing forecourts, that are equipped with convenience stores and food or drink offers.
The expansion supports MFG’s strategic goal to build a nationwide network of ultra-rapid EV hubs, designed to support the UK’s transition to electric vehicles and help address charging accessibility in high-demand urban areas.
