Swedish electric vehicle brand Polestar and home charging firm Zaptec have announced a pan-European commercial and technological collaboration agreement.
The strategic partnership marks a significant step towards strengthening the electric mobility infrastructure in Europe, the companies said.
As part of the agreement, Zaptec’s home charger, Zaptec Go, will be highlighted as the recommended home charger on Polestar’s website and in Polestar Spaces across Europe.
This ensures customers a reliable, premium charging solution within Polestar’s extensive ecosystem, they claimed.
The Zaptec Go charging unit will begin rolling out to Polestar customers in selected European markets, with availability in additional markets to be announced soon.
Lutz Stiegler, Polestar CTO, said:
“The partnership with Zaptec marks an important step in providing our European customers with seamless and effective home charging solutions ahead of the first deliveries of the two electric performance SUVs Polestar 3 and Polestar 4. Together with Zaptec we will also continue developments on innovative charging tech to deliver features like smart charging, bidirectional charging and vehicle-to-grid to our customers in the future.”
Kurt Østrem, CEO of Zaptec, added:
“We’re genuinely proud of this collaboration. Given Zaptec’s high regard for quality and safety, it’s only fitting to partner with those who share and understand our values. Entering into this partnership, we’re embarking on an incredibly exciting journey in Europe, particularly with our vehicle-to-grid technology.”
