JLR’s clients will have access to over one million electric vehicle chargers across Europe and the UK through a new partnership with Digital Charging Solutions (DCS).
The partnership will enable Range Rover, Defender, Discovery and Jaguar drivers to use either their InControl Remote app or any future JLR apps to locate and pay monthly for over one million public chargers throughout Europe from July.
Powered by Digital Charging Solutions’ (DCS) platform, which is connected to hundreds of electric charging point operators across the UK and Europe, clients with plug-in hybrid and electric vehicles will be able to filter for charger availability and speed in their chosen locations across 29 European countries, as well as pay for charging on a monthly basis.
When purchasing a new or used approved hybrid or electric vehicle, clients will be given a complimentary branded charging card, enabling them to use any of the 1.1 million chargers. Existing clients can order a charging card from their retailer or via their app.
Range Rover, Defender, Discovery and Jaguar clients will be able to use their app and vehicle navigation system to locate and navigate to a preferred charger on daily journeys, on holiday or when travelling through rural areas. Around Stuttgart, over 16,000 chargers are available, while popular Mediterranean islands like Rhodes, Greece, feature over 200 chargers. In more remote places such as the East Tyrol region in the Austrian Alps and as far north as cities like Tromsoya in Norway, chargers are widely available.
