MG achieves sales growth

MG Motor achieved growth in 2025 through the delivery of 100,000 EV in the UK and 300,000 vehicle sales across Europe - a 30% increase on the previous year.

MG Motor achieved growth in 2025 through the delivery of 100,000 EV in the UK and 300,000 vehicle sales across Europe – a 30% increase on the previous year.

In the UK market, MG Motor ranked as the tenth best-selling brand for the second consecutive year, reaching 85,155 registrations by the end of 2025 and achieved a 4.4% year-on-year uplift in sales.

MG ranked second in total UK December registrations with 9,846 deliveries, below Volkswagen. The MG HS finished the year as the UK’s eighth best-selling car. It was also the second best-selling brand in Wales during 2025.

MG Motor Spain was the market’s fifth best-selling brand with 45,168 vehicle registrations among private customers, and the MG HS PHEV was the market’s top ranked plug-in hybrid with 8,039 customer deliveries with private buyers. The MG ZS SUV was Spain’s second most sought-after passenger vehicle and top-selling SUV.

In Italy, MG reached 50,064 units, which represented a 25% increase versus 2024 and 3.3% market share. 53% of all sales were electrified cars.  MG Italy secured second place in terms of full hybrid vehicle sales.

“MG continued to make positive progress in 2025 and in some markets we have established ourselves as a top 10 manufacturer, with our highly-efficient and practical Hybrid models proving to be notably popular.

“Customers can look forward to even greater choice from MG this year, in addition to new and accessible technologies in the first half of 2026. We can confirm the arrival of a range of new EVs as well as a significant announcement regarding MG’s access to state-of-the-art EV technology.”
