On-street EV chargepoint operator Char.gy has announced it delivered approximately 36 million miles of electric driving using 100% renewable electricity in 2024.

The figures come from its environmental impact results of its charging infrastructure, which also eliminated an estimated 10,974 tonnes of CO₂e emissions compared to petrol and diesel vehicles.

Its inaugural Impact Report also revealed that 10.3 million kWh of certified renewable electricity were used, a 30% reduction in carbon intensity per charge point, and 100% of Char.gy’s operations were powered by renewable energy.

Char.gy also became a Certified B Corporation in 2024, scoring 100.2 points – above the 80-point threshold required.

Specialising in kerbside charging for drivers without off-street parking, it deployed nearly 3,900 charge points in 2024, prioritising accessibility, including innovations like inclusive EV charging solutions for disabled drivers.

The company’s charge points are designed and assembled in the UK using modular, repairable components to minimise waste and support circularity.

John Lewis, CEO of Char.gy, said:

“We’re scaling our network with accountability at our core.

“Reducing carbon intensity, powering with renewables, and delivering over 10,000 tonnes of avoided emissions – this is how growth and sustainability go hand in hand.”
