Electric vehicle (EV) chargepoint operator RAW Charging has launched its newest ultra-rapid charging hub at McArthurGlen West Midlands.

The hospitality and leisure operator has opened the site with week-long free charging to celebrate the hub, which also marks the beginning of its Connecting Amazing Places summer campaign, which aims to make “days out easier, more enjoyable and more accessible for EV drivers across the UK”.

The site features 10 bays, including 2 priority bays, with up to 22kW charging, alongside contactless payment. McArthurGlen West Midlands also has more than 65 designer shops, as well as cafés and restaurants.

It forms part of RAW’s long-term partnership with McArthurGlen Group, which has seen the installation of over 385 EV charging bays across the group’s UK and European portfolio. The West Midlands project is the latest and the final UK location to go live.

RAW’s Summer of Connecting Amazing Places nationwide campaign runs across its portfolio from mid-July through August. The initiative highlights RAW’s growing network at retail, leisure and hospitality destinations in the UK, including theme parks, designer outlet shopping and countryside escapes.

Jason Simpson, CEO of RAW Charging, said:

“We’re thrilled to bring our West Midlands destination online to complete the broader programme with McArthurGlen. This activation reinforces RAW’s role as a key infrastructure partner for retail locations across Europe. To celebrate the launch and the start of our Summer of Connecting Amazing Places campaign, we’re offering a week of free charging—helping drivers experience just how easy and enjoyable sustainable travel can be.”

David Jackson, UK Facilities Lead and McArthurGlen West Midlands Centre Manager, said:

“This project is another great example of RAW’s ability to deliver high-impact solutions for everyday destinations. As EV ownership grows, it’s essential that infrastructure grows with it—and this new West Midlands hub is designed to make sustainable driving simple for local communities and visitors alike.”
