Following the Fleet Electrification Forum on 9 July at Warwick Conferences, Transport + Energy will release a manifesto of the sector’s key asks to the UK Government and industry.
The Fleet Electrification Manifesto will draw from insight on the day of the Forum, taking on board the discussion from the keynote speeches and sector-wide debates that will occur throughout the event.
In what promises to be a must-attend event, this is the sector’s opportunity to have its say and deliver the messages which it believes are most essential to ensure the decarbonisation of fleets.
As the UK accelerates towards the ban on the sale of new petrol and diesel cars from 2030 – and 2035 for larger commercial vehicles – many fleet managers and operators now find themselves within one or two purchasing cycles of the cut-off date.
Therefore, the time is now for big decisions on their fleets, and the Forum presents the opportunity for the sector to come together and discover how the targets will be met. This includes detailed insight on trials, real-life case studies, as well as the challenges, opportunities and risks for fleets across the next five years.
Moving from commitments to certainty, this content from the Forum will feed into the manifesto, which will provide a bird’s eye view of the industry, and reveal exactly where the sector is currently placed – and where it needs to go in order to fulfil its decarbonisation targets.
Many large companies and SMEs have set ambitious goals for 2030 alongside the UK Government’s own policy, and this will be interrogated at the Forum alongside the multiple challenges in meeting such targets.
The manifesto promises to be a critical document for signposting the fleet industry’s needs, and the various ways that is collaborating and driving real change across the transport industry.
Founder and Editorial Director of Transport + Energy, Alec Peachey, said:
“I’m delighted that Transport + Energy are undertaking our first Fleet Electrification Forum. The manifesto will highlight the large, diverse range of speakers and discussion during the day, and will ensure that the voice of the fleet industry is captured at this critical time for the sector.
“Myself and the team at T+E look forward to welcoming everyone at Warwick Conferences in July, and helping to bring together and facilitate the collaboration across the private and public sectors which will ensure that the UK’s ambitious decarbonisation targets are met.”
This builds on the Transport + Energy Delivery Plan, following the Forum last November, which was presented to the government in January this year.
