Charging insight white paper launched
Full Circle CI has released a white paper providing Charge Point Operators (CPOs) with insights and strategic recommendations for transforming their charging networks.
Called “Plugging Into the Future: Understanding the Needs of EV Drivers”, it combines feedback from more than 200 EV drivers with detailed analysis and practical solutions for increasing charger utilisation and enhancing operational performance.
The paper revealed “significant challenges” across the charging experience, stating there was “widespread concerns” about standardisation, safety, and communication.
In addition, it reported only 15.1% of drivers feel their feedback was heard and acted upon, 41.3% reported problems with charger availability and accessibility, 35.3% dissatisfaction with customer support, and 31.2% dissatisfaction with efficiency, reliability, and ease of use.
It also outlines five key areas where CPOs can make improvements including simplifying the charging process, creating standardised interfaces and reducing payment complexity; implementing comprehensive support systems and effective feedback mechanisms for customer services; ensuring charging is accessible; making robust monitoring systems and maintenance programmes to improve charger reliability; and ensuring pricing transparency and consistency.
Liz Allan, Managing Director at Full Circle CI, said:
“Our white paper identifies significant improvement opportunities across the EV charging experience.
“From charging performanceand reliability to customer support excellence and standardisation, we’ve uncovered crucialinsights directly impacting charger utilisation. The data shows that by addressing these comprehensive challenges through targetedimprovements, CPOs can significantly enhance customer satisfaction and their return on investment.
“Most importantly our findings demonstrate that success lies in taking a holistic approach. CPOs focusing on operational excellence while building robust customersupport systems and streamlined processes will see the greatest gains in charger utilisation. It’sabout creating an ecosystem that works seamlessly for every EV driver at every charging session.”
