T+E Forum to present Delivery Plan to government
A Delivery Plan document taking in key insight and learnings will be presented to the UK Government following the Transport + Energy Forum this November.
The crucial, exclusive report will follow the event, held at Warwick Conferences on 21 November, which will be bringing together the transport and energy sectors.
It will explore and intimately log the ways in which government and business can accelerate and execute a decarbonised future, absorbing the views of senior representatives which are collaborating across energy networks, fuel types, infrastructure and vehicles.
Chair of the Energy Security and Net Zero Committee and former shadow roads minister, Bill Esterson, who has close links to the transport sector and central government is supporting the Delivery Plan.
Esterson said he was “delighted” to be supporting the Transport and Energy Forum and “looking forward to reading their Delivery Plan”.
He added:
“The collaboration between the transport and energy sectors will be critical to meeting the country’s decarbonisation goals and, ultimately, achieving net zero by 2050.
“It will be important for the committee and the government to fully understand the requirements of the transport industry if we are to accelerate the transition to clean energy. I look forward to learning from the forum and their Delivery Plan as my committee makes recommendations to the government throughout this parliament.”
This year, the theme looks at the concept of “Moving from action to delivery: fulfilling the transition to a decarbonised future“. The document will track the evolution of decarbonisation to-date, with key inputs from the leading public and private-sector organisations on how to deliver decarbonisation and net zero goals going forward.
These detailed and rich conversations and debates, across a packed, day-long agenda, will all be pulled together into the Delivery Plan. This detailed, insight-driven report will demonstrate to the UK Government the variety of ways in which the sectors are collaborating, as well as the critical views, debates, and strategies presented.
Key insight delivered into the Plan includes content from panel discussions with senior leaders in the sectors, discussions around clean air zones, trade associations’ viewpoints, and keynote speeches and talks.
Sessions will also cover Q&As from the audience, which will allow the 300 delegates – including 60 fully-funded places for local authority representatives – to offer their own insight. This community-driven content will also be fed into the document to the UK Government, alongside the views of sponsors, event partners and the wider industry.
As a result, the Plan will provide large-scale, holistic cross-sector and cross-industry insight, offering a best-in-class, bird’s eye view to politicians of the transport and energy sectors’ needs.
UItimately, the Plan will also showcase the necessary strategies required to turn action into delivery at a national and local government level, as well as across both sectors and within businesses.
Founder and Editorial Director of Transport + Energy Alec Peachey said:
“The Delivery Plan is an exclusive, critical output from the Transport + Energy Forum.
“This document will showcase in detailed and various ways the ultimate purpose of T+E: how the two sectors are uniting.
“It will offer to government a brilliant example of how collaboration of the two sectors will be crucial in the journey to decarbonisation – and how policy and funding support will drive delivery into action.”
Don’t miss out on your opportunity to present your plans, strategies and views, and ask the key questions, needs and wants to the UK Government.
