RAW Charging celebrates largest charging day
Electric vehicle (EV) chargepoint operator RAW Charging had its largest day of charging activity during World EV Day this year.
The heritage, hospitality, and leisure sector charging firm said that it saw a 319% increase in charging sessions recorded across the network, with Greene King pubs the standout performer, rising by 357% from an average day.
At one point, 20% of all its plugs were in use simultaneously at 1pm. Despite the surge in usage, the overall charging time, plug-in time, and idle time all decreased, indicating smoother and more efficient charging cycles.
According to the firm, the record day of charging shows the impact of large-scale promotions, and the growing need for accessible EV charging infrastructure.
Jason Simpson, CEO, RAW Charging, said:
“We’re incredibly proud to have surpassed all expectations for the third year in a row, celebrating World EV Day by giving back to the EV drivers of the UK.
“This achievement highlights the dedication of our hosts to sustainability and reducing emissions. Our partnerships with businesses in the leisure, hospitality, and retail sectors underscore the importance of destination charging.
“We look forward to further expanding our destination charging network across the UK and Europe, supporting the transition to EVs.”
