Allstar signs EV partnership with DPD

Electric vehicle (EV) fuel and business expense payment company Allstar has announced a partnership with DPD – with the firm now acting as the lead provider for all aspects of DPD’s on the road fleet payments for EV and fuel.

DPD plans to transition 40% of its vehicles to electric in 2024 which will deliver 100 million parcels. The company has rapidly increased its EV fleet over the last two years, with over 3,600 vehicles now running on electric.

The agreement gives DPD drivers full access to Allstar Chargepass, reducing the need for separate transactions for public and home charging, offering franchisees a single monthly invoice. It also grants access to Allstar’s extensive EV network which includes more than 14,000 charge points, across more than 4,000 locations, comprising slow, fast, rapid and ultra-rapid charging to suit all drivers’ needs.

At home, Allstar Homecharge which is part of the Allstar Chargepass offering, calculates and pays for business-use EV charging directly to the energy provider, for a more accurate, controlled and streamlined solution. This helps DPD make the case to its drivers to transition to EVs as the ability to charge at home, rather than the depot, provides a practical solution to drivers.

Ashley Tate, Managing Director of Allstar Chargepass UK said:

“As a company committed to the EV transition in fleets, we’re proud to be extending our partnership with DPD to continue simplifying the transition for drivers. The delivery industry is not only responsible for its own emissions, but also its partners’ net zero strategies, meaning the pressure is on to speed up efforts.

“Our partnership will make electric vehicles more accessible to drivers and serves as a significant milestone in our shared commitment to achieve net zero across fleets.”

Paul Holland, Managing Director of UK Fleet, Fleetcor, including UK brand, Allstar adds:

“It’s incredibly satisfying to see our relationship with DPD grow and evolve, and for Allstar to be their lead payment solution provider. Supporting our clients in their transition strategy is an absolute priority for Allstar, and DPD is yet another example of how we’re not only providing sustainable solutions for our partners, but also empowering drivers to make the switch.”

Olly Craughan, the Head of Sustainability at DPD commented:

“The collaboration with Allstar provides another solution for DPD to utilise in its journey towards decarbonising its final mile delivery fleet. The Allstar Chargepass and Allstar Homecharge solutions encourage our drivers to make the switch to electric due to the simplicity and convenience that charging at home can bring, as well as the option to use Allstar’s roaming public charging network.”
