RAC partners with Egg on domestic EV chargers

Automotive services company The RAC has teamed up with clean energy firm Egg on domestic electric vehicle charging.

The firm will now promote Egg’s home chargers to drivers as well as providing exclusive offers to RAC members on the products.

Egg’s 7kW fast home EV chargers, which are available in both tethered and untethered versions, are listed alongside options from the RAC’s existing charger partner – and to purchase either through an interest-free monthly payment plan or an upfront payment.

RAC members purchasing an Egg home EV charger through RAC Rewards will also receive a £70 Amazon gift card, with non-members purchasing through its website entitled to a card to the value of £35.

Ross Mabon, Chief Commercial Officer at Egg, said: “It is a privilege for Egg to be working with the RAC, an iconic UK driving services brand and one that is a force behind the electrification of motoring. We feel confident that by working together, we will succeed in helping many more drivers enjoy the benefits that come from switching to electric vehicles and other connected clean energy solutions like solar and home battery storage.”

Mark Adcock, head of brand licensing at the RAC, said: “We’re excited to begin this partnership with Egg and are pleased to expand our EV home charger options for our members and drivers generally. What’s more, the flexibility to pay for an Egg charger in convenient monthly instalments, as an alternative to paying one upfront sum, is a valuable benefit to anyone ‘going electric’, especially during the current financial climate.”
