Renewable energy firm EDP Commercial has partnered with GreenFlux to support the growth of its e-mobility services.

The news will see EDP, who provide e-mobility services to Portugal, Spain and Brazil, work with software and smart charging firm GreenFlux to offer a digital mobility platform offering end-to-end EV charging and energy management services – delivering APIs and functionalities to EDP for its customers in Portugal and Spain.

EDP chose GreenFlux to future-proof its platform and improve smart grid capabilities – preparing the firm for future business opportunities. At present, EDP has contracted more than 3,500 charging points in Iberia – with the aim of delivering more than 7,000 by 2026.

Speaking about the deal, Head of Smart Mobility at EDP Commercial, Goncalo Castelo Branco, said: “EDP Charge platform brings together the experience and innovation that we bring to the e-mobility ecosystem, and it is in this context that the partnership with GreenFlux arises to guarantee new functionalities for residential and business customers, such as smart charging.”

Suthalan Gnanes, Managing Director and Chief Commercial Officer at GreenFlux, said: “EDP’s strategy and mission of sustainability and innovation are perfectly aligned with GreenFlux’s purpose of accelerating the energy transition towards sustainable mobility. Together, we have the ambition to innovate and integrate technology to maximise the adoption of energy-efficient solutions globally.”
