SWARCO Smart Charging makes senior hire to lead Petrol Forecourt proposition

SWARCO Smart Charging, the nationwide EV infrastructure business, is continuing its investment in key sector expertise with the appointment of David Holder to lead its Petrol Forecourt proposition and manage its Motor Fuel Group (MFG) relationship throughout the UK.

David, whose experience in the petrol forecourt sector spans 25 years, will promote SWARCO Smart Charging’s turnkey EV charging solution for independent operators and support those operators in realising an essential revenue stream. The business already has more than 8,000 charging points installed in the UK and is the trusted partner for operators like MFG and national programmes such as ChargePlace Scotland.

David says that the incoming 2 to 3 years signal the beginning of the end for ‘conventional’ vehicles, and EV charging presents a significant growth opportunity: “We recognise there are many operators out there who know what they need to do, but don’t necessarily know where to start. That’s why we’re starting the conversations now, providing operators with charging points that are proven over more than a decade to be the most reliable on the market, to provide maximum uptime, and maximum customer satisfaction.”

Where SWARCO Smart Charging is different, David believes, is that its solutions are bespoke to each customer: “Some may just want the technology, others an end-to-end solution including installation, service, maintenance, and even finance. Whatever your objectives, and however challenging the site, we’ll work with you to deliver practical and reliable solutions to bring certainty, in an otherwise uncertain world.”

Justin Meyer, Managing Director of SWARCO Smart Charging, says the business is very pleased to have David on board: “David’s knowledge and experience of the petrol forecourt sector, and his understanding of current and future trends, make him an important part of our journey to guiding our customers to the right solutions, for them to make the transition from fossil fuels to electric.”
