New homes and buildings must have EV charge points installed

From today (15th June 2022) all new homes and buildings such as supermarkets or workplaces built in England, will be required to have electric vehicle (EV) charging points installed.

EV Energy Taskforce report identifies five key ‘enabling conditions’ to help with rollout of charging infrastructure

A report published by the Electric Vehicle Energy Taskforce shows that the UK can deliver the tenfold increase in charge points needed to hit Net Zero but identifies five key ‘enabling conditions’ that must be met.
The Taskforce has calculated that the UK needs between 253,000 and 661,000 extra chargepoints by 2035 (with a central estimate of 490,000).
