Chris Mason joined FISITA as Chief Executive Officer in August 2014, bringing almost four decades of experience across the automotive and mobility sector.
Since joining FISITA, Chris has led a significant transformation of the organisation, strengthening its role as the global alliance advancing the technology of mobility. Under his leadership, FISITA has evolved into a leading platform for international knowledge exchange, connecting engineers, industry leaders, academics and innovators from around the world.
Chris has delivered the development of the FISITA international connected community, creating new opportunities for year-round collaboration through digital engagement, expert groups, thought leadership activity and world-class international events. This approach reflects the changing needs of the global mobility community and enables members to collaborate more effectively across borders and disciplines.
Before joining FISITA, Chris spent 14 years with the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), the UK’s leading automotive trade association, serving on the senior management team for 12 years. During this time, he established a strong reputation within the automotive industry and received several awards in recognition of his contribution to the sector.
Chris is a Fellow and Non-Executive Director of the Institute of the Motor Industry and Vice Chair of the World New Energy Vehicle Development Organisation, China, and is a regular contributor to international discussions, industry forums and thought leadership initiatives focused on the future of mobility, emerging technologies and the ongoing transformation of the automotive industry.
