As EV & Storage Manager at the National Energy System Operator (NESO), Anthony’s team focus on understanding the role of flexibility and impact on system operability from electric vehicles and energy storage in a zero-carbon electricity system.
Areas of interest include for example: how EV demand and flexibility will evolve over the next decade; encouraging closer relationships with industry to increase participation in energy flexibility services (such as the Demand Flexibility Service); understanding emerging system risks from increasing numbers of EVs and batteries and proportionate ways to manage this. Prior to joining NESO, Anthony developed solar projects, conducted smart EV charging research with the University of Reading – and managed several vehicle-to-grid (V2G) / bidirectional smart EV charging projects.
