Anda joined West Yorkshire Police as Sustainability Manager in 2023, bringing more than 10 years of experience working in the civil service, research, consultancy, NGOs, and regulated utilities in climate and energy policy.

Prior to joining the police, Anda worked for the electricity distribution network operator, Northern Powergrid, leading on topics such as low-carbon energy policy, EVs, decarbonisation of heating, and local energy to ensure the network can enable net zero targets to be met across Yorkshire & the North East in line with national policy and local ambitions. In this role, she also managed the roll-out of first EV charging points across company sites and developed network’s regional EV readiness strategy.

Anda holds a MSc in Environmental Economics & Environmental Management from the University of York and a BSc in Environmental Science and MSc in Biology from University of Latvia. In addition to her role in the police, Anda is an advisory member on the North East & Yorkshire Net Zero Hub’s Board.
