With over 35 years of providing highway services, including fleet operations, with a Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) as a transport manager.  

Wiltshire Council’s fleet includes over 200 number small to medium sized vehicles, circa 200 number Passenger Transport Unit vehicles, 30 Gritters, a number of larger specialised vehicles and circa 200 vehicles provided to contractors. 

The council has a climate pledge for its Scope 1 emissions to be carbon neutral by 2030.  It currently operates circa 200 number electric vehicle charging units and over 100 number electric vehicles. The council has an investment plan of a further circa £15m for the conversion of the majority of the remaining small to medium sized vehicles to electric, with the required infrastructure. This is supported by an investment of £32m in a new central Wiltshire depot to support council and contractor vehicle operations planned for 2028.
