Vital EV Solutions will supply charging infrastructure for Be.EV charging hubs in Greater Manchester and the north of England.

The Kempower chargers from Vital EV will supply up to 150kW of ultra-rapid DC power at the new charging stations, which set a new standard for sustainability and design.

Be.EV is the largest EV charging network in Greater Manchester and is expanding at pace across the north of England, which currently has one of the UK’s poorest EV infrastructure coverage with just 24 chargers per 100,000 inhabitants. As a result, Be.EV is looking to speed up the rollout of new EV charging hubs across the region and will be installing Vital EV chargers to achieve this.

Be.EV has opted for Vital EV’s hub-and-spoke charging system, which consists of the Kempower C-Series Centralised Power Unit (CPU) and S-Series satellite charging posts, for its ultra-rapid charging speeds and class-leading power-to-footprint ratio. In addition to providing faster charging speeds, the new hubs will also ‘look’ and ‘feel’ different.

Alex Rae, Business Development Manager at Vital EV, commented: “We are delighted to be working with Be.EV on these hugely exciting projects. These next-generation charging hubs in the Greater Manchester region and beyond will genuinely shift the public’s perception of the EV charging experience through innovative design and that is something we are very proud to be a part of.”

The rollout of these next-gen charging hubs is set to begin in 2023 and Vital EV will be supporting the sale of the chargers with commissioning, installation and an ongoing maintenance plan, carried out by Vital EV’s nationwide team of engineers and coordinated by its National Operations Centre in Chester.
