Electric vehicle manufacturer Polestar has highlighted in its new Polestar 4 that customers still desire an estate-body car despite the popularity of SUVs.
The company said research by Cinch showed that estates were the second most popular body style (18%) behind SUVs (36%).
It said that estates offered practical elements, including boot space and practicality, with the Polestar 4 aiming to incorporate this with up to 1,680 litres of storage, a glass rear hatch, full-length roof rails and smarter loading design.
In addition, the cabin aims to provide more room for passengers, with a vehicle-to-load function to turn the car into a mobile power source for devices and equipment. A larger loading area also allows for room for dog and animal crates, which are often a feature of estate usage.
Matt Galvin, Managing Director of Polestar UK, said:
“The Polestar 4 SUV combines the usability of an estate with the presence of an SUV, while delivering the design, performance and sustainability drivers expect from a Polestar.
“It’s about taking the best qualities of both, delivering enhanced practicality for the modern family. And of course the car has the ‘look back factor’ every time you walk away.”
