Warren Philips of EVCI Global has been appointed by members as chair of RECHARGE UK.
Mark Constable, Head of Transport Policy at the Renewable Energy Association (REA) and previously chair of RECHARGE UK – the industry-led electric vehicle group operating under the REA – said he was “delighted to be working closely with such a strong voice with a significant track record of advocacy within our industry”.
Philips is an REA member through his work at EV charger inspection and certification company EVCI Global. He is also the co-founder and former chair of EVA England and Campaign Lead for FairCharge.
He recently founded LucidDestiny Consulting, working at the intersection of EV consumer advocacy, policy, compliance, and public communications.
Philips is also a long-term EV owner, with his approach grounded in his own experience of living with solar, home batteries, ASHP and two EVs on the drive.
His work is “underpinned by a five-principle framework” – Fair, Accessible, Equitable, Safe and Accurate – helping organisations navigate the EV transition “in a way that works for both drivers and industry”.
He added that “accuracy sits at the centre of EVCI”, whose process has recently been evaluated by the NPL, giving confidence in the reliability of their accuracy assessments. This work feeds directly into the REA’s Right to Switch campaign, he said.
Philips concluded:
“As Chair of RECHARGE UK, I will continue championing efforts to remove the barriers to EV adoption, ensuring the transition to electric vehicles is trustworthy, transparent and built on accurate information, working for both industry and drivers.”
