Electric vehicle (EV) chargepoint operator RAW Charging has opened a flagship site in south London with new firm Hubber.

The leisure, hospitality and retail sector CPO joined forces with Hubber, a specialist real estate and infrastructure platform founded by an ex-Tesla team, which officially launched last Friday.

Hubber acquired and developed the site, with the firm focusing on transforming underutilised urban property into next generation high-powered hubs, helping to remove deployment barriers for charge point operators and commercial fleets.

The Forest Hill site features 12 ultra-rapid EV charging bays including three 150kW and three 300kW units, which can serve 12 vehicles at any one time, including a priority bay.

It features the Dartmouth Arms, restaurant chain Meatliquor’s only pub, where the first 25 drivers each day will receive Meatliquor Vouchers.

The Forest Hill hub brings together high-speed charging, vibrant hospitality, and sustainable urban development, RAW said, which is “about creating destinations that serve communities and elevate everyday experiences”.

The partnership with Hubber, with Forest Hill as the first site being part of a larger pipeline, increases RAW’s growing UK-wide network of EV charging destinations.

Neil Broadbank, CCO, RAW Charging, commented:

“Forest Hill marks the first in a wave of RAW Rapid hubs coming online at key London retail, leisure, and hospitality destinations over the next 12 months.

“Thanks to Hubber and their dynamic approach, we’re unlocking the development and energisation of these sites in record time, with this particular site being acquired, developed and constructed from start to finish in nine months.

“RAW are catering to very high driver demand, and we’re enabling and enhancing experiences with EV charging at retail, leisure and hospitality destinations nationwide.”

Harry Fox, Co-Founder & CEO, Hubber, said:

“Large, high-powered hubs like Forest Hill play a vital role in enhancing London’s fast, reliable charging network. We’re proud to deliver this in partnership with RAW and look forward to the long-term benefits this collaboration will bring to drivers and the city.”
