Electricity network operator SP Electricity North West has revealed its new name and visual identity as part of the Iberdrola Group.

The new name and look follow the completion of Iberdrola’s majority acquisition of Electricity North West earlier this year and its subsequent alignment with Iberdrola’s ScottishPower brand within the UK.

This makes ScottishPower the second largest distribution network operator in the UK – delivering electricity to approximately 12 million people across a network spanning more than 170,000 kilometres, from Stirling to Stockport.

The SP Electricity North West name and the distinctive Iberdrola/ScottishPower brand mark of the green leaf (symbolising renewable energy), blue drop (water and wind) and orange flame (solar energy) will now be gradually rolled out across the company, including its website, social media channels, depots, vehicles and personal protective equipment (PPE).

Stephanie Trubshaw, SP Electricity North West’s Chief Operating Officer, said:

“We have always been champions of this wonderful part of the country and – as SP Electricity North West – that will continue, with our customers and communities at the heart of everything we do.

“As part of the Iberdrola and ScottishPower family, we will use our collective strength to be a force for good as we continue to invest and deliver the modern and resilient electricity network the North West needs as we head towards a clean energy future. Alongside my colleagues across the business, I’m excited to begin the next stage of our journey as SP Electricity North West.”

Keith Anderson, ScottishPower CEO, added:

“The roll-out of the new SP Electricity North West name and logo strengthens the collective identity of all our network licences under the ScottishPower and Iberdrola banners.

“It builds on the history and legacy of Electricity North West as a trusted partner connecting communities and keeping electricity flowing every day – a commitment that doesn’t change as we continue towards a better future, quicker, for everyone.”
