As the lead for fleet transformation activities for Royal Mail, Stuart’s task is to turn one of the largest fleets in Europe (biggest in UK), which is primarily made up of ICE vehicles into a net zero fleet.

Having deployed over 7,000 electric vehicles within c.200 sites across the UK, Royal Mail and Stuart’s team hold the current record for the largest UK commercial electric fleet. This has been achieved by creating one of the largest privately own charging networks in the UK with over 3,000 charging sockets, including rapid charging.

This is only one part of Stuart’s role, and not only does he need to support the maintenance of all these vehicles, with the help of his team he also manages the driver behaviour programme for Royal Mail, this includes supporting drivers with telematic solutions to deliver the best driving culture.

Stuart’s relentless drive for improvement means his team are constantly trialling and testing new initiatives, with the hope this will benefit not just Royal Mail but the whole fleet industry.  He is believer that the fleet industry is stronger when we work together to find the best solutions for all.
