Oxa collaborates with Bradshaw EV

Oxa and Bradshaw EV are collaborating to deliver scalable autonomous vehicle solutions for a range of applications.

Autonomous vehicle software firm Oxa and specialist industrial electric vehicle company Bradshaw EV are collaborating to deliver scalable autonomous vehicle solutions for a range of applications. 

The collaboration will see Oxa’s self-driving software, Oxa Driver, integrated with vehicles supplied by Bradshaw EV.

Enabled by Oxa’s Reference Autonomy Designs (RADs), each vehicle platform is configured with autonomy hardware and Oxa’s software, and is ready to deploy at scale.

The company said the result was autonomous vehicles that are “designed to tackle the pressing challenges faced by businesses today”, including labour shortages, rising operational costs, and the need for increased efficiency and safety within industrial environments. 

Oxa’s self-driving technology will initially be integrated onto two platforms offered by Bradshaw EV: the T800 8-tonne tow tractor and the Club Car Carryall 500 utility vehicle.  

The Bradshaw T800 delivers off-highway light logistics applications, providing autonomous towing capabilities for moving goods and components efficiently around airports, large manufacturing sites, distribution centres, campuses, and a wide range of other environments. 

The Carryall 500, driven by Oxa, provides autonomous asset monitoring, inspection and data collection in environments such as solar farms, industrial plants, and large infrastructure sites.

Designed to improve operational performance and support preventative maintenance, it aims to eliminate the needs for manual inspections, and can operate in harsh environments and off-highway on rough terrain.

Inductive charging also means that large sites can be covered without human interaction, maximising duty cycles and reducing the need for workers to be present in remote locations, the company said.

A key element of the collaboration was described as Oxa’s ability to use a single, common interface to integrate its self-driving technology across diverse vehicle types like the T800 and Carryall 500.

This approach aims to simplify the process of enabling autonomy on other Bradshaw EV platforms in the future, offering businesses a scalable pathway to Industrial Mobility Automation. Consequently, businesses can deploy self-driving technology now – with the flexibility to expand to other applications and operational workflows.
