KOSTAL Group launches new EV charging software brand
KOSTAL Group is expanding its range of services with the launch of vaylens – an innovative software division for the management of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure.
Vaylens will offer software solutions that simplify the operation of charging infrastructures and make the billing of charging processes more efficient. The sister company Compleo Charging Solutions will focus on the hardware business for the optimisation of EV charging technology within the KOSTAL Group.
According to KOSTAL the company was the first to implement plug-and-charge independently of hardware in the market with its onboard chargers (OBCs) and has now equipped over 4,500,000 vehicles with OBCs. The expansion is an important part of the company’s business strategy for energy solutions. The software backend is part of the comprehensive electromobility ecosystem of the group.
Vaylens makes it easier for both newcomers and charge point operators (CPOs) to use electromobility by offering comprehensive options for the management and monetisation of charging infrastructure. Vaylens is a hardware-independent software provider for charging infrastructure. The focus is on applications in the public and private sector. The aim is to provide CPOs with user-friendly and scalable solutions that are easy to manage. The company enables CPOs to make their charging stations accessible to all electric car drivers with minimal effort. Its innovative products will make charging at workplaces, in houses in multi occupancy buildings (HMO), and for vehicle fleets efficient.
Dr. Gregor M. Schmeken, MoB of the KOSTAL Group, commented:
“I am very much looking forward to this important step in implementing our strategy for innovative energy solutions. With vaylens, we are investing in a leading software backend provider in the ecosystem of charging and energy infrastructure. It is an attractive market that offers great opportunities. vaylens is a central component of our energy solutions portfolio and the foundation for sustainable growth and business success of our group.”
Jörg Lohr, CEO of vaylens, explains:
“The market for charging infrastructure has developed strongly in recent years. With vaylens, we respond to the changed needs of our customers by offering reliable and efficient software solutions that enable optimal management of the charging infrastructure regardless of the hardware used. Our customers benefit from a wider range of choices and an improved user experience, while we respond flexibly and tailor-made to the challenges of this growing market.”
Russell Olive, UK Director of vaylens said:
“The UK’s EV charging infrastructure is very much in need of an innovative solution like vaylens. There needs to be an emphasis on how electric vehicles are managed across the country, to ensure charging is convenient, efficient and reliable.”
