It is a certain day of the year with electric vehicle (EV) manufacturers Farizon and Skywell introducing revolutionary technologies which will change the face of EVs forever (ahem).

Farizon has claimed to have introduced “an innovative new feature aimed at those who miss the odour and feel of traditional diesel-powered alternatives” – Eau de Diesel scent.

Available as an option on the all-electric SV large van, Farizon’s new ‘Nostalgia Mode’ is designed for tradespeople and delivery drivers who really miss the ‘good old days’ of their diesel-engine workhorses.

Activated via a handy app, ‘Nostalgia Mode’ emits a specially developed ‘Eau de Diesel’ scent, a surprisingly charming new fragrance that will instantly take drivers back to the smelly combustion vans of yore.

For those who miss the rattling charm of diesel engines, ‘Nostalgia Mode’ also pipes the incessant droning clatter through the cockpit’s speakers, with the pitch specially mapped to match the rate of acceleration, while integrated haptic seat-shakers replicate the bone-jarring vibrations that once travelled through the vehicle structure.

Elektra van O’Dor’, Lead Era-defining Vehicle Attributes Engineer at Farizon, said:

“Along with a long-lost love for Marathon bars, Blur CDs and a good old A-Z, our research unearthed a longing for the smell of diesel particulates and the intrusive rattling of a trusted old workmate. Our new ‘Nostalgia Mode’ feature is a timely reminder of the olden days.”

Meanwhile Electric vehicle manufacturer Skywell, has today announced a breakthrough in automotive technology: “Cognitive Energy Transfer” (CET), a revolutionary system that allows drivers’ positive thoughts and actions to extend their vehicle’s battery range.

Simply starting the day with a smile, singing along to your favourite tune, or maintaining a positive mindset while on the road can now directly contribute to longer journeys in the Skywell BE11.

‘Bea Happie’, Chief Innovation Engineer, said:

“We’ve always believed in driving innovation, but now we’re taking it to the next level. Cognitive Energy Transfer means your good vibes can power your car, creating a driving experience that’s emotionally and environmentally uplifting.”
