Zemo Partnership, in collaboration with the Welsh Government, will host Moving to Zero – West Wales on 25 February 2026 at The Halliwell Centre, Carmarthen.

The event aims to bring together industry, government and finance to accelerate the decarbonisation of industrial, utilities and long-haul transport.

The West Wales event focuses on the hardest-to-abate segments of transport – including industrial haulage, utilities fleets, ports and logistics corridors – sectors that underpin the Welsh and UK economy but face significant challenges in transitioning to zero-emission operations.

The programme will explore real-world solutions for decarbonising heavy and essential transport, including zero-emissions HGVs, pathways for existing fleets, planning across energy infrastructure, financing green freight.

A key focus of the event is the role of collaboration and coordinated planning in unlocking scale, aligning fleet transition with grid readiness, infrastructure investment and policy frameworks to maximise economic and environmental impact.

Alec Thomson, Project Manager at Zemo Partnership, said:

“Decarbonising heavy and essential transport is one of the toughest challenges we face, but it’s also one of the biggest opportunities.

“Moving to Zero – West Wales is about bringing the right people into the room to focus on what works in the real world: investable solutions, coordinated planning and collaboration across fleets, energy and
infrastructure.

“Wales is well placed to lead, and this event is about turning that potential into action.”
