European fast electric vehicle (EV) charging company Fastned has grown its network of charging stations to more than 400 locations.

The news comes as there are now 406 Fastned locations open to drivers across the Netherlands, France, Belgium, Germany, the UK, Switzerland, Denmark, Spain and Italy.

During 2025, Fastned opened 60 new charging stations, including its first locations in both Italy and Spain.

In July last year, Fastned celebrated the opening of its 50th charging station in France, while in December the company crossed the 50-station boundary in both Belgium and Germany.

Beyond growing the network’s size, Fastned has also expanded its station concept in 2025, with the company showcasing a new vision for an all-electric service area with a new flagship location in Gentbrugge, Belgium, in September 2025.

The first Fastned location on the German Autobahn opened in July last year, while the company also opened its first locations specially designed to accommodate electric trucks.

The company’s stations offer a ‘Solar Tree’ canopy, which aims to make “charging stations visible, accessible and attractive”, it said.

Fastned’s first station opened in Palmpol, the Netherlands, in 2013, with the company opening its 100th charging station in June 2019, 200th opening in Germany in May 2022, and the 300th location arriving in the Netherlands in January 2024. The company intends to open a network of 1000 fast charging stations across Europe by 2030.

Michiel Langezaal, Co-Founder and CEO of Fastned, said:

“2025 was another record year for Fastned, and I’m extremely proud that we now have over 400 stations, all in premium A-locations and offering best-in-class charging, across nine countries – no small feat!

“The future of European transport is electric, and Fastned is set to continue leading the transition as we look ahead for another huge year in 2026.”

Françoise Poggi, COO of Fastned, said:

“In 2025, Fastned laid the foundations to scale, delivering on our guidance while building the capabilities and discipline we need for the next stage of growth.

“In 2026, we’re focused on optimising our scale‑up: empowering country teams to move faster within clear guardrails and make smart, long‑term choices that have a lasting impact on our stations and customer experience across Europe, as we cement Fastned’s role as a leading fast‑charging operator and a reference point for thought leadership in our industry.”
